Our story | est. 2007

One sunny day in the Spring of 2007, I delivered ten tiny arrangements to ten local businesses throughout the Plaza Midwood area, leaving business cards along the way.  A few days later, Serendipity stepped in and we had a home at the historic, beautiful McGill Rose Garden. We've been growing there ever since-first with the flower shop, then with our events company, and now with our beloved wine bar! When our design studio was there, we loved that we could step out our back door and go for a lazy garden stroll on our breaks with our beloved calico cat, Rosie.  While we miss being there to design full time, we love that our companies have taken on new life in the garden. The rose garden itself is quite magical, tucked in just so that you'd surely miss it if you didn't know it was there.  It's our own little secret garden.  While we don't tend the garden, our sister company does oversee rentals and events here, and we are the exclusive floral designer for all weddings that take place there. We are so deeply invested in sharing it's spirit with Charlotte.  And of course with the addition of the coffee and wine bar, Rosie’s is the perfect place to come relax and enjoy the space during evening hours. It's been an integral part of our lives for 17 years, and we feel truly blessed to have such a relationship with such a little gem of green space. Our new and shiny design studio on Pecan has been our home now for over five years. We adore our neighbors in Plaza Midwood, Chantilly, Elizabeth, Meyers Park, and beyond where our clients have become our friends. Our new space is full of bright light, a bit on the modern side, and gives us plenty of room to create.

I'm the owner and lead designer, but my husband Dan and I have been running and growing these companies together for over a decade. We have a great crew of designers, creatives, and movers and shakers that help us bang out some seriously awesome events all over the Charlotte area.  I have a B.A. in Dance and had intended on being a yoga therapist. The universe had a different plan for me.  My passion for flowers has taken the lead for the past 17 years.  It's exhilarating, inspiring, (exhausting!), soothing, enlightening, and challenging.  It feeds my soul.  I'm merely along for the ride...and I'm rolling with it.

I grew up in a gardening family... a plant gifting, clipping sharing,  pass this plant to the next generation kind of family. There's a certain poetic notion to flowers and how they make us feel.  Daily, I feel it. Again, so blessed.  I hope this begins to explain my mission here. To not just be ordinary, but ExtraOrdinary in our gifting of flowers and design. I don't want my shop to be typical. We base our designs on a love for art, color and passion for the finest flowers.  I believe in relationships and simplicity and intentional design.  And while I'm frugal in nature, I'll go to the extreme for the perfect bloom. I believe quality takes time and nurturing and that the best thing we can offer the world is our truth.
